Public Participation and Stakeholder Engagement
As part of our project sustainability measures, we engage the public and all stakeholders at the early stage of our studies. We are leaving no one behind; ensuring diversity and inclusiveness: roadside traders, artisans, shop owners, transporters, property owners, and communities along the project corridors are being engaged in our social survey and consultation.
Below is a summary of two major ongoing projects we are involved in as EIA Specialists and which require public participation.
The
Federal Government of Nigeria, under the administration of former President Muhammadu
Buhari and immediate past Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji
Fashola designed Value-Added Concession (VAC) under the Highway Development and
Management Initiative (HDMI) to leverage private sector funding for road infrastructure
management.
- The EIA for two of the federal highways is being undertaken by Escher Silverman Global in collaboration with ECOBULLION Consultants. The highway projects entail expansion and reconstruction of the existing highway, construction, and installation of tolling facilities at four strategic locations along the highways including trailer parks, and other modern highway infrastructure. The key benefit of the project is a regularly maintained highway free of potholes or traffic congestion with highway security lights, among others.
Lagos – Abeokuta Highway
Tolling facilities will be constructed at Obada Oko, Papalanto, Old Sango Toll Gate and Ile-Zik (Ikeja)
Benin – Asaba Highway
On this highway, tolling facilities will be constructed at Ramat Park, Benin Bye Pass, Uromi Junction and Summit Junction (Asaba)
